The Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation

Giving Back to the Community Instrumental to Their Success

Anyone who turned the radio on in the 90s is sure to know The Hootie & the Blowfish. Originally a Southern favorite, they quickly took the world by storm with their soulful musical style that soon became iconic.

In 2000, the band formed the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation to support charities both in the South and nationwide.

The Foundation Supports Nonprofit Charities and Organizations

Band members Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Jim Soni Sonefeld and Dean Felber wanted to give back to the community that was so instrumental to their success. The Foundation supports nonprofit charities and organizations in South Carolina by administering multi-year Area of Need grants.

Although the priorities of funding change from year to year, previous projects have focused on things like scholastic arts education, mental health, veteran services, and child welfare.
